Chugging Along...

Hola Amigos!

Well, not a whole lot to report (as evidenced by my lack of posts). I'm still kind of building up my base and getting back into shape. I've increased my mileage to 3.5 miles 3x per week, but that's really the only change.

For those of you who don't know, the weather here in NC has not been very cooperative (severe storms and crazy heat... damn North Carolina), so I've had to run indoors a lot. I could get up before work and run, but really, who are we kidding. I'm am so not that girl :)

So here we are -- running and running. The new shoes are feeling GREAT (did I mention I got rids of my old Brooks and bought some new ones... very nice) and my legs are holding up well. I hope I can get outside some next week... I may have to suck it up and do a late night run. We'll see :o)

One Week In

One week in and feeling good. So far, none of my old ailments seem to be plaguing me... keeping my fingers crossed for now! I've been keeping my running to an easy pace, about 12-12.5 minutes miles. I want to ease in slow and then start working on speed later.

At this point, I've just been running 3 miles a day, 3 times a week. Once I'm confident that my shins aren't gonna give me trouble, I'll start increasing my mileage. The nice thing about this race is that its pretty far down the line, so I have plenty of time to get ready. Also, the Vegas course is flat, so no pesky hills and such!

Stay tuned for more updates! Yoga booty, here I come!

Luck Be A Lady... Tonight!

Hello everyone!

Well, I'm at it again... competitive running! It's been two years, but I've decided to get back into it and try my hand at a half marathon again. This time, I've decided to run the Rock n Roll Vegas Half Marathon. Needless to say, I'm very excited... I mean 1) It's Vegas, 2) It's Vegas and 3) Did I mention Vegas! LOL... should make for a fun race.

This time around I'm hoping to run with 2 of my co-workers! I always think it makes training easier when you workout with others -- helps keep you motivated!

So, here we go again... wish me luck! T-Minus 168 days!
